Hue City is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, located in the key economic region of Central Vietnam. Hue has advantages in geography, natural landscape resources, human resources, extensive and comprehensive transportation systems of road, rail, air and sea. Hue is 675 km far from Hanoi to the North and 1.060 km far from Ho Chi Minh City to the South.

Hue City reserves many cultural values which were approved as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Hue City has many monuments, beautiful places such as Huong River, Ngu Binh Mountain, Thien Mu pagoda, palace and tombs of the kings of the Nguyen dynasty. Hue City was also recognised as a Festival City. From 2000 until now there has been five destivals held with the participation of many visitors and many countries around the world. Hue University with seven member colleges and three departments along with the Medical Center (Hue Central Hospital) play a very important part in the Central and in the whole country.

Hue has the climate belonging to monsoon tropical are. Hot season is from May to September. The avarage temperature of the hottest month is from 27C to 29C. Cold season is from October to March next year. The average temperature of the cold season in the delta is 20C to 22C. The rainy season starts from September to February next year. Storms usually occur from August to October every year.
